CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

As a Club we will follow all recommendations from our national authority, namely Scottish Women’s Football Association.

  1. All persons who have unsupervised access to children will be vetted by our club  and asked to complete a disclosure Scotland form which will be submitted to our national association.

  2. All new coaches will be vetted through the Scottish Criminal Records Office after the implementation of the police act 1977, part V.

  3. All coaching staff must have a minimum coaching qualification.

  4. Our club will not ask an individual to become a coach until we have known him / her for at least 2 consecutive years and the Disclosure Scotland, Criminal Records procedures have been implemented.

  5. There must be a minimum of 2 coaches at all training nights and match days.

  6. All coaches must have a minimum first aid certificate and the club has a fully qualified first aid person.

  7. At least one committee member must attend a health and safety course.

  8. No coach will administer treatment to an injured player alone.

  9. No coach will be put in a situation where he or she is alone with any player. Therefore a minimum of 2 persons must always be present.

  10. A fully stocked first aid kit must be at hand at all training nights, match days and trips arranged by the club.

  11. All accidents however small must be recorded in the accident log book and the players parents or guardians informed of the treatment administered.

  12. Parental consent must be granted and a medical form completed for all planned trips with the exception of league / cup games.

  13. Our league and National Association must sanction all tournaments that we attend. Should the club require accommodation at a local hotel etc, then a full risk assessment must be carried out by the committee prior to the children attending.

  14. All drivers must report any traffic convictions as soon as possible.

  15. All children are fully insured by the club and additional travel insurance may be taken out to cover trips out with the U.K.

  16. Each member of the club will receive a copy of this policy. It will be also made available to anyone connected with our club including parent’s etc.

  17. This policy will be reviewed annually at our A.G.M or any emergency A.G.M.
